The Revenants are sentient spiritual essence living among the Sarkaz.

Overview

A giant Revenant manifesting itself physically

Named after revived ghosts in Western folklore, Revenants are souls born into the material world from the eternal mourning of the myriads of Sarkaz spirits, turning them into sentient beings with self-consciousness. Their abstract presence makes them appear to be close to the concept of Nephesh in Judaism, Nafs in Islam, and Akh in ancient Egyptian belief. Because of their uniqueness, many non-Teekaz Terrans wrongly perceive them as a separate Sarkaz “tribe” that possesses psychic bodies and a hive mind.[1] But to many Sarkaz, the Revenants are more than just a “Sarkaz tribe”: they are their ancestors in spirit and the symbolism of the Sarkaz’s eternal suffering who witness the mourning of the dead spirits. In fact, they are the intermediate who shares their racial memories to the mortals from the myriads of dead spirits.

The Revenants have the ability to possess non-living things to manifest themselves physically. One of the notable Revenants are those possessing the giant airship built by the Military Commission of Kazdel and those residing in the eternal furnaces in Kazdel. As a matter of fact, the Revenants have religious significance since they are the ones who keep burning the Kazdelian first eternal flame brought by "The Farchaser" the first King of Sarkaz who molded his tribesmen into the image of man through Originium.

Because they are bound to the material world, the Revenants are not accepted by the myriads of souls to follow them when their spirits ascended to eternal rest in peace after being freed by Theresa from the psychic bondage of Originium in the Inner Universe.[2] They still linger upon Terra but with less anguish.
