- May is likely based on Miss Mallard from the cartoon A Miss Mallard Mystery.
- May has the traits of an American Pekin. Two of them can be seen in her Elite 2 artwork.
- In her Japanese dialogues, May has the habit of adding the verbal suffix "なのだ(nanoda; roughly meaning "like this")" or "のだ (noda)" for short in the end of her speech.
- May was playable in Arknights beta, but was cut prior to the game's release. She was later reintroduced to the game in Code of Brawl. Her properties in the beta were also different:
- The overall stats were lower.
- The fifth potential bonus lowered May's redeployment cooldown further instead of improving her talent.
- The talent was originally Fast Cartridge (identical to which Exusiai and Jessica have).
- The first skill was originally Power Strike γ (identical to which Savage and SilverAsh have).
- The second skill increased May's attack interval but buffed her ATK and made her attacks temporarily slow the victims.
