Ling is a 6★ Summoner Supporter who specializes in (no pun intended) Support and Crowd-Control, and only available from the Festival limited headhunting banners starting from Unstrained Liquor, Pellucid Heart. Being limited banners, the "pity" system from other banners are not carried over to every Festival banner, but to compensate that, Ling has a 70% chance in Unstrained Liquor, Pellucid Heart and a 30% chance in Solitude Universal and Reap of Millennia to be the 6★ Operator that appears in a pull, and can be purchased at the Certificate Store for 300 Headhunting Data Contract icon.png while a Festival banner starting from Unstrained Liquor, Pellucid Heart is up.

As a Summoner Supporter, having Ling deployed allows the player to deploy summons, which will be elaborated below. As with other Supporters, Ling's attacks deal Arts damage, but with a range of 3×3 tiles and a 1-tile extension up front at Elite 1 — similar to Core Casters. However, Ling is not meant for direct combat due to her below-average stats when compared to Casters, so she must be placed out of reach from ranged enemies who can easily dispatch her.

Talents

  1. Lantern Lit, Thy Dream Sought has Ling use her personal summons. Ling have 3 summons available in each deployment, which increases to 4 at Elite 1 and 5 at Elite 2, and the summons themselves are counted towards the Unit Limit, but only three of them can be deployed at a time.
  2. So is Writ, an Ode to Wine buffs Ling's ATK and has her restore some SP whenever one of her summons is destroyed, recovered through Amidst Pleasant Melodies, or combined; the ATK buff can stack up to 5 times.

Skills

Ling's skills have a passive effect which determines how her summons function and an active effect to buff her and her summons.

  1. Sips of Wine has Ling use Tranquilities which are deployed on melee tiles with a melee attack and a block count of one, costing 12 DP each. When activated, one additional Tranquility will be given and while active, Ling and the Tranquilities have their ATK and ASPD buffed, and causes the latter's attacks to deal Arts damage.
  2. Amidst Pleasant Melodies has Ling use Peripateticisms which are deployed on ranged tiles with a ranged Arts attack and a range of 3×3 tiles with a 1-tile extension up front (like that of Core Casters from Elite 1), costing 9 DP each. When activated, Ling and the Peripateticisms release a burst that deals heavy Arts damage to up to 2 enemies within their ranges and Binds them for a short time, then "recovers" all deployed Peripateticisms with less than 50% HP by retreating them and increasing the deployment count by the amount of Peripateticisms retreated this way. Amidst Pleasant Melodies can also store multiple charges at higher levels.
  3. To Remain Oneself has Ling use Thunderers which are deployed on melee tiles with a melee attack that hits multiple targets equal to their block count of two, costing 23 DP each with a redeployment time of 20 seconds instead of the others' 10 seconds. In addition, Ling can "combine" two Thunderers by deploying the second one within the first's range (or having the first in the second's range) to become a "higher" version with further increased stats including a block count of 4 and melee Arts attacks at the cost of using up two Unit Limits instead of one. When activated, Ling will receive one additional Thunderer and while active, Ling and the Thunderers have their ATK and DEF buffed, and the latter emanates an aura that periodically deals Arts damage to enemies in the adjacent tiles.

Operator Module

The SUM-Y Module, Fond Dream with Poetry, increases the deployment count of Ling's summons by 3 and reduces their DP cost in addition to increasing her maximum HP and ATK. Once upgraded, up to four summons can be deployed at a time and their HP and ATK are increased at Stage 3.

  • Fond Dream with Poetry makes the deployment of Ling's summons easier and is a must if one wants to make full use of them.

Base skills

Ling's base skills provide various bonuses while she is assigned to the Control Center.

  1. Keep the Wine Flowing removes the morale drain of Sui Operators assigned to the Control Center.
  2. "Vast Mountains and Rivers" generates 10 Perception Informations while Ling has more than 12 morale or 15 Worldly Plights while she has less than 12 morale.

Summary

For her extreme rarity, Ling can be considered the ultimate Summoner Supporter who can provide focused or spread DPS with her summons, and summon literal "stonewalls" as needed. As with other Summoners, however, Ling will only start to shine at higher levels and using her also requires a lot of practice involving trial and error, and she can be hard to fit in a full team due to the summons taking up Unit Limits. The results, however, will be very well worth it and Ling can even be a literal "one-woman army" who can clear most operations entirely on her own.
