During operation

[The player progresses through Barrage Fortress' third stage until...]
<Game paused>
Conviction In one final act of conviction, the benevolent God of Art will grind sinners into–– Wait, hold up... Closure, there's an issue with the God of Art's assets!
Closure I don't see anything wrong.
Conviction What do you mean you don't see anything wrong? What the heck is this?!
Closure That's The Big, Ugly Thing.
<Game unpaused>
[The Big Ugly Thing "Placeholder goes here" shows up. Good luck, you'll need it.]

After operation

<Background 1>
Closure That's a wrap, Doctor. C'mon, snap out of it, how'd the test go?
Conviction When one is deeply shaken, one must collect oneself.
Doctor Can I ever get that time back? / ...... / Weird. I kind of want to go again.
Conviction I sense some confusion in you.
It seems we shouldn't place too much hope in you, considering your taste and appreciation for art, or lack thereof.
If you have any questions, ask them now. And I shall answer.
<Dialogue branch starts here>
Doctor How was art or justice "eternal!" in that?
Conviction How could you be so slow-witted and serve as Rhodes Island's combat commander?!
Did my own portrait not appear in the game?
Doctor ......
Conviction I–Master Conviction–inheritor, protector, speaker of Art and Justice appeared within the game, and had to be protected, and was forbidden to be defeated. What does that signify?
It signifies Art and Justice will never fall!
<Dialogue branch>
Doctor "Appropriate difficulty"? "Game balance"? Where?
Conviction Was there something wrong?
Closure Doc, you can't throw shade on me like that. "The difficulty curve's busted because I'm always top of the leaderboard."
Heheh, I'm the developer, after all! Of course I know strats for Barrage Fortress!
Conviction As Rhodes Island's combat commander, you should be reflecting on your own gaming ability rather than pointing the finger at Closure!
If I could, I would convict you right here and now!
<Dialogue branch>
Doctor What beautiful scenes? What realistic characters?
Conviction Didn't I tell you? We asked Dusk to provide art references for our in-game CGs.
But she hasn't taken us up on it yet.
She will, sooner or later. She loves art with a passion. I can tell.
<Dialogue branch ends here>
Closure Doc, Soldiers Assemble: Barrage Fortress! is only a demo for now. We plan to make further improvements after this testing round is done.
So if you have any ideas, shoot them our way. Feedback is vital.
Doctor (Excitedly) Got work to do. Let me get back to you. / (Apathetically) Got work to do. Let me get back to you.
Conviction Then you're free to go, for now. I'll visit you this evening. You're my aide, after all, and it's of great necessity that I improve my aide's aesthetic judgment.
To misunderstand art is a form of sin!
<Background 2>
Ifrit Hey... Doc!
Did Closure get'cha to test her new game too?
Already done? What's the name of it?
Doctor Bad Assembly... something. / Soldier... something... Fortress. / Large Binbemble or something.
Ifrit ......
Uh, I guess I oughta at least try it...
[Ifrit goes in as Closure and Conviction are heard greeting her.]
Closure's Muffled Voice You're here! Congrats on becoming the 53rd tester for "Soldiers Assemble: Barrage Fortress!", Operator Ifrit.
Conviction's Muffled Voice Before you formally begin your testplay, as Lead Planner and Art Consultant for Soldiers Assemble: Barrage Fortress, I'm compelled to give you a brief explanation of this game's design concepts and highlights!
Doctor Hang in there, Ifrit.
