A witch, a shaman, a homeless outcast... Simone has witnessed too many tragedies, yet the sacred tree still leads her the way.

The life of Simone the Sami Feline has been intertwined with the sacred tree of her tribe. As a baby, she was forced to be abandoned due to food scarcity, but the old tree that saved her gave an omen to the tribe, hence they readopted her and groomed her to become their shaman. As the harsh blizzard of the north slowly eroded the forests, she chose to abandon the tree and led some of her fellow folks to escape to the south for survival's sake. By the time they recovered their tree and rebuilt their village, the area had been formally declared as an Ursine territory, and Simone's tribe fought hard to repel the invaders. Witnessing her tribesmen being horrendously massacred, she killed all the Ursine troop on spot with the snowstorm created by her Arts. But in the midst of her vengeance, a dying soldier pierced her left eye with an Originium knife, infecting her with Oripathy as a brutal curse.

Following the tragedy, Simone became a self-imposed "outcast" who wandered around the borders between Ursus and Sami. Her snow Arts and her strong vindication against the Ursi made her a "witch," a wanted criminal by the Ursine authority. She was eventually brought under Rhodes Island's wing after a local personnel rescued her from her illness. As Operator "Santalla," she is an important asset who acts as a median for R.I. personnel in entering the Sami heartland. She also slowly adapted herself to modern lifestyle, but she is still proud of her traditional Sami lineage. And one day, the homeless shaman will triumphantly reclaim her chiefhood as a newly chosen Snowpriestess under the guidance of the tribe's sacred tree.

Santalla first appeared in Polaris, part of Operational Intelligence, before being introduced as an Operator with the release of The Black Forest Wills A Dream.

Plot

Operation Intelligence

Santalla arrived at Magallan's base in the Icefield during a harsh winter. She was surprised to see such a young girl bravely staying in this harsh environment and continuing her research there. She asked whether Magallan could accept her as an Infected, and the young explorer replied that she didn't mind about that.

Soon, the two noticed that the temperature inside the base was dropping because the heating system has malfunctioned. Santalla requested to help her fix the machine outside, but Magallan was worried that she could not withstand the blizzard. With her Arts manifested in the form of songs, she calmed the storm.[1]
