- True to his name, Emperor is literally a talking emperor penguin (Aptenodytes forsteri).
- This causes him to be a target of Skadi in fanarts and memes, due to the fact Skadi, based on the orca whale, hunts penguins. Magallan, who is also based on a species of penguins, is one other character also targeted by Skadi as well.
- Emperor's Li'l Homie handgun closely resembles the Desert Eagle.
- The man depicted on Emperor's shirt is the late Tupac Shakur, shown from the caption "2Pac" under the image.
- Emperor experiences countless death yet survives. Similarly, this likely alludes to Tupac's miraculous survival where he encountered five gunshots by a robber at the Quad Studios in 1994, with two shots being potentially fatal on his head.[1] Nevertheless, Tupac never survived another gunshot murder two years later.
- Emperor's title as a "rap god" is a reference to the song of the same name by the American rapper Eminem.
- Emperor made an appearance in Ambience Synesthesia as one of the Arknights characters performing Manifesto alongside Siege, Lappland, Indra, and Ethan. He is voiced by Substantial (who also performed Renegade and Emperor's leitmotif Loyal to the Beat) in the song.
- Along with the closing dialogue of 9-19 After, the first line of Emperor's Punchline skill description is the only instance of colored text(s) in Arknights aside from in-game emphasizes.
