Astgenne Urbica is the younger twin sister of Astesia Urbica, born from a family of Gaulish Liberi astrologers who emigrated to Columbia after being denounced in their homeland, unwittingly sparing themselves from the aftermath of the Battle of the Four Emperors. Her parents pressured Astgenne to study astrology over her preferred field of science, causing her to lose any interest in astrology and leave the Urbica household to pursue her studies under the nom de guerre Elena Urbica, eventually earning two Ph.D. degrees.

Astgenne joined Rhine Lab after previously interning herself in the R.L. Energy Section under Ferdinand Clooney's oversight, who made her his protégé. At some point, Astgenne contracted Oripathy while rescuing her colleagues from a liquid Originium leak in a laboratory and unwittingly infected Astesia while being treated by her. Subsequently, the sisters went to Rhodes Island for treatment, but Astgenne returned to R.L. after her condition was stable.

After being caught in the Test Site 359 incident involving her mentor, Astgenne cuts off her ties with Ferdinand out of disgust towards his involvement and requests to be transferred into R.I., reuniting her and Astesia as the two provide their services as an engineering staff and astrologer, respectively.
