- Her name means "winter" in various Slavic languages, mainly Russian.[1]
- She has the traits of a brown bear (Ursus arctos), as shown by her hair color and her Elite 2 artwork.
- Zima is often portrayed as a stereotypical gopnitsa within the community due to her appearance and mannerisms, especially with her outfits.
- Zima bears a striking resemblance to Ryūko Matoi from Kill la Kill:
- Both have bluish eyes and shoulder length dark hair with a prominent red highlight over the left eye. Also, both possesses a fierce personality.
- Both are also voiced by Ami Koshimizu.
- Zima is one of the few operators who never addresses the Doctor by their name, instead referring to them via nondescriptive terms, until she reaches 200% Trust, signifying her initial cautious attitude. This can be seen in her quotes where she presents her assistance, half-jokes about usurping the Doctor's leadership, and rebuking the Doctor about going back to Chernobog, telling them instead to "keep it tight" with her, stating her new home is in Rhodes Island.
- This is further supported in Ursus IO79 where she is uncharacteristically cheerful.
