In Kjeragian folklore, the "Tschäggättäs" are cannibalistic humanoid monsters said to inhabit the snowy mountains of Kjerag, with their frightening appearance is enough to make children cry upon seeing them[1] and often called out by parents to scare children into behaving themselves.[2] In order to pacify Mount Karlan, the Holy Hunt is held during the Grand Festival in which the Karlan Saintess has to ceremonially hunt down Tschäggättäs to chase bad omens away.
Inspired by the myth, Enciodes Silverash founded the eponymous private troops as part of his ambition to wake the conservative Kjeragians up to the geopolitical reality of Terra. He secretly trained them in the Victorian county of Ascarat and had them equipped with latest weapons such as those bought from Raythean through Karlan's secret channels, and even Victorian Mounted Police vests.[3][4] When the time was ripe, he had Tschäggättäs infiltrate Kjerag through the only railway line in the country and disguised themselves to be killed in a fake explosion planned by Gnosis, only to wait for the right moment to appear.
Indeed, the Tschäggättäs allow Enciodes to score a string of military successes throughout the Snowcap Incident.
