The eighth tutorial operation of Arknights, TR-8 gives an insight on the usage of Roadblocks in certain operations to delay the enemy advance by changing their path into the objective.
Deploy Fang on F7 and Kroos on F8, both facing left, to handle the initial wave of enemies which consists of two Soldiers and Originium Slugs. Once they are all killed, a Soldier will spawn from B9 – just a few tiles away to the objective, and there are no other Operators available to be dispatched to deal with them. Dobermann then points out that in some situations, Roadblocks are available to delay the enemy when Rhodes Island had to make do with limited personnel.
That's what exactly must be done; deploy a Roadblock on C7. This seals off the closest route from B9 into the objective, and forces the Soldier, along with another Soldier spawning from B9, to take a longer way around through lanes B and 2, allowing Fang and Kroos to take care of them. Be careful not to deploy the Roadblock when the Soldier is right on C7, as they will be able to easily destroy them!
