The fifth tutorial operation in Arknights, TR-5 gives an insight on how to counter enemies' DEF with Arts damage, which is typically delivered by Caster Operators.
As instructed by Dobermann, deploy Fang on B6 facing left, followed by Kroos on C6 facing left to support her. A Shielded Soldier will spawn, and notice that Fang and Kroos barely do any damage to the Shielded Soldier with their attacks due to their high DEF. Jessica then points out that Arts damage can be used to counter heavily armored enemies, and Durin is available for deployment; deploy her on D5 facing down, and notice that her attacks actually damage (and eventually kill) the Shielded Soldier. This is because Arts damage are reduced by RES instead of DEF – something that the player must remember when they are up against high-DEF enemies, as most, if not all, such enemies have little to no RES.
The rest of the enemies should be able to be dispatched without much trouble, but to wrap things up, deploy Hibiscus on D6 facing down to heal Fang.
