The second tutorial operation in Arknights, TR-2 gives an insight on the attack range and facing of Operators, which can often decide the outcome of operations.
Rangers are pre-deployed on D5 facing up who will be able to dispatch the first three Originium Slugs who spawned from E1. However, a fourth one spawns from C1, which is out of Rangers' reach.
At this point Dobermann explains about Operator attack range and facing, namely the fact that an Operator's facing, which influences their attack range, cannot be changed once they are deployed, unless the Operator is redeployed after being KO'd or retreated, and instructs the player to deploy another ranged Operator to cover the tiles outside Rangers' attack range, making Adnachiel available for deployment. Deploy him on B6 facing up and he will dispatch the fourth Originium Slug and those spawned from C1, as well as supporting Rangers in taking out those spawned from E1.
