- He is named after Mephistopheles, a demon who appeared in the Faust myth as the main antagonist.
- In the original Chinese text, Mephisto had been calling Talulah as "Sister," but this is omitted in the English localization.
- Mephisto is the first enemy whose attack heal enemy units instead of damaging friendly units.
- Mephisto has a dirk dagger and Tokarev pistol holstered on his belt, both of which are not used in-game.
- Along with W and The Last Steam Knight, Mephisto is the only enemy with a unique Stunned animation, like that of Operators.
- Mephisto, "The Singer" is likely a reference to the Caladrius in Roman mythology.
- Before being confirmed to be a Liberi from his transformation to "The Singer" in Episode 08 and the official artbook later on, Mephisto's race was a subject of debate among Arknights players, due to his fully humanoid appearance with an apparent lack of animal features.
- The feathers he released when attacking and defeated made Global players (correctly) speculate that Mephisto is a Liberi.
- Some CN players initially speculated that Mephisto is a Sankta who had lost his wings and halo, though this is no longer the case in later stories as Sankta will only lose their haloes upon death.
