  • His codename is the German word for ebony, a type of black wood used in many musical instrument such as oboes, cellos, and the black keys used in keyboard instruments (i.e., pianos or harpsichords).[1]
  • His first name may be a reference to Franz Schubert, an Austrian composer of the late Classical and early Romantic periods. His leitmotif, "Ständchen", directly references Schubert's titular composition.
  • As the distant relative of the Witch King, Ebenholz is likely inspired by Western folklore of black goats being associated with evil and witchcraft, as in Akerbeltz in Basque legend or Baphomet in Gnosticism.
  • Two of the goat-headed figures in Ebenholz's E2 illustration resemble him and Kreide. They have a different eye colour (lavender) as opposed to the other figures (red), and are playing their respective instruments (flute and cello). The figures' horn shapes and clothing are also similar to Ebenholz and Kreide's.
  • As with Czerny, Ebenholz's English dialogues are spoken in German accent, but thicker than Czerny's. This is because his English voice actor, Atilla Akinci, was born in Germany.
    • Notably, there are lines where he speaks or codeswitches in German, a trait not present in his Chinese, Korean or Japanese dialogues.
  • Ebenholz became the first Operator ever to receive a third module during the release of Episode 13.
    • With the said module equipped, Ebenholz became the first ever operator outside the Ritualist Supporter class to be able to inflict Elemental Damage. In this case, he is able to inflict Necrosis.
  • As of 23rd May 2024, Ebenholz is the first and only operator to receive a rateup on all servers at the same time, with Global and CN servers having Ebenholz as a rateup on Standard Headhunting banner and TW server having Ebenholz as a solo rateup as a result of the Dissonanzen banner running alongside Lingering Echoes rerun.
