- The name derives from Middle Irish meaning "black pool"[1] as well as the capital of Ireland.
- Dublinn is obviously based on the Irish Republican Army, though their support of the restoration of a Draco monarch makes them more similar to the Jacobites.
- The tagline of Dublinn ("The one who sets the sun") is possibly a counterpart to the phrase "The empire on which the sun never sets", which was commonly used to describe the size of the British Empire. This is fitting for how Dublinn is an organization that wishes to overthrow Victoria, the Terran analogue of Great Britain.
