• His first name, Demetri, means "worshipper of Demeter" in Greek. Demeter is the Greek goddess of harvest who is also a goddess of justice and sacred law, which alludes to how Demetri upholds the sacred laws of Siracusa.
• His surname, Certaldo, derives from the eponymous city in Florence, Italy. The name is of Etruscan origin that is based on its Latin name, Cerrus Altus, meaning "upland covered by Turkey oak."
• The Executor Specialist icon can be seen on Demetri's coat, and he wears an infection monitor on his right wrist. Given many precedents where NPCs becoming playable (Ho'olheyak, Harmonie) following said pattern, there are high hopes in the Arknights community of him becoming playable in the future.
