The Leithanian Elafia William Fichte Czerny is a renowned Infected performer of Vyseheim's Afterglow District, hailing from a family of musicians. While his hot temper and strict manner make others wary of him, he is nevertheless a genuine musician who will sacrifice everything for the sake of his music. His only close partner was Gertrude Strollo, the city's Lehnsfrau, who had been his sponsor until their ultimate separation out of conflicting opinions. Due to his Infected status, Czerny had to publish his work anonymously until his sudden rise in popularity thanks to his famed Morgen und Abend which attracted the aristocrats. Still, Czerny did not forget his fellow citizens and helped build the city into a musical center through his financial support.

Czerny originally intended to perform his farewell performance before his departure to pursue his dream in another city. He wanted to perform together with Ebenholz and Kreide who would become his disciples not knowing that his performance was a plot by the Witch King's loyalists to conjure up a deadly ritual, one that will bring thousands of deaths to the local Infected by reawakening the accursed "Voice of Terra" inside the mind of Ebenholz and Kreide–the Witch King's bloodline. Not only was he forced to sell off his copyrights to hospitals in exchange for treatment for those who were affected by the plague, but he also nearly lost his life as he attempted to write a score that could become the Voice's vessel.

After the Vyseheim incident, Czerny was introduced to Rhodes Island to treat his worsening Oripathy caused by said event. While he unfortunately lost his fame and wealth to stop the crisis, he did not regret it. Instead, by working in R.I. as its Arts instructor, Czerny firmly believes that he can start all over again to become the true musician he has been aiming for.
