• Ashlock has the traits of a squirrel, specifically the eastern gray squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis). Two of them in the form of a symbol of a coat of arms are shown in her Elite 2 artwork.
  • Eastern gray squirrels are considered an invasive species in Europe, where they are notably able to displace red squirrels through greater fitness and the spread of diseases that the gray squirrels have immunity to, such as squirrelpox. This is likely reflected in how Ashlock's family was indirectly responsible for the displacement and infection of Flametail, who is based on a red squirrel.
• The cross at the bottom of her Eilte 2 artwork resembles a Maltese cross, which was historically used by the Knights Hospitaller.
