• The Rat King was originally intended to be named Mouse King in English, which can be seen from his codename as an enemy.
• His given name, Kojui/Gerui, sounds identical to the romanization of "gray" in English which fits his another title, the "Lin Gray."
• One of the Rat King's stage names in LTTB's story, "Sandstorm Rude," is a reference to Darude and his most well-known work, Sandstorm.
• Unlike other enemies (but similar to W), the Rat King do not disintegrate when defeated, but rather applauds before disappearing, showing his respect to those who managed to best him.
• The name Rat King comes from the term describing the rare phenomenon of numerous rats getting tied or stuck together by their tails.
