• His name literally means "ten thousand qing", equivalent to 66.7 hectare. Wanqing is also a Chinese term that means a very wide, spacious piece of land.
• Wanqing has the traits of a water buffalo (Bubalus bubalis), and a young buffalo with short horns can be seen in his Elite 2 artwork.
• Wanqing's occupation and ambition could allude to Yuan Longping, the "Father of Hybrid Rice" whose contribution allows the mass growth of rice crops.
• The name of his second base skill is directly quoted from a Classical Chinese parable, "The Restless Huan Rong (Hanzi: 《恒荣勤学不倦》)" , which narrates the diligence of a scholar named Huang Rong.
• Unlike other Standard Bearer Vanguards, Wanqing carries a kite as his weapon.
