Yiddish, really?

"The modern Kazdelian language resembles Yiddish in our world." I know we on the wiki have a tradition of, for lack of a better term, "making things up based on vibes", but where does this come from? Has there ever been official reference to what modern Kazdelian sound like (if there even is modern Kazdelian)? At least with Laterano we have that lore video narrated in latin.

Yiddish isn't even a Levantine language, you guys! PseudoMon (talk) 02:10, 28 April 2024 (UTC)

Reply: Hmm.... I do aware that Yiddish is not Levatine. The reason is because 1) Manfred's Arts Units is called Teekazwutzen which can be interpreted from both German and Yiddish, 2) Hyman from HE is literarily of Yiddish origin and 3) This is to separate ancient Kazdel and modern Kazdel. Nagomiya
I hope you'll excuse me for thinking that's VERY flimsy. It's only two words, one of which is a person's name, and in a side story that's not big on Kazdel lore, even. We know Arknights pick up a lot of names from real life culture, but that's the kind of stuff that goes to the Trivia section, no? I don't think we need this to "separate ancient Kazdel and modern Kazdel" (actually I'm not even sure there is a modern Kazdelian). We know ancient Kazdelian isn't intelligible to modern Sarkaz; it's enough to note that without extrapolating too much.
You know what, I would also prefer it if we remove the claim that ancient Kazdel language is Hebrew. I'd change my mind if we have a lore video like Laterano or if someone speaks whole phrases in it like when Lettou spoke French.
By the way, you can sign your name by writing three tildes (~~~), or four tildes to include a timestamp. PseudoMon (talk) 02:18, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
