Operator trivia: Skyfire

  • Her Japanese codename calls her "Skyflare" (Katakana: スカイフレア, Romanji: sukaifuerea) rather than "Skyfire" although both are of the same meaning.
  • Her first name, Ethelflaed, is an Anglo-Saxon name meaning "noble beauty." One of the famous historical figures who carried such name is Æthelflæd, Lady of the Mercians.
  • Skyfire has a QR code on her left sleeve. When scanned, the result is "Renatus," which is actually the previous pen name of her illustrator TOKI.
  • Originally, Skyfire's Skill-Skyfire1.png Fire of Heaven was manually de-activatable and had an unlimited duration (similar to Mountain's second skill) during the closed beta of Arknights, making her a powerful Operator that rivaled the 6★ at that time. However, after several adjustments that paved way for the official launch (including the changes to this skill, making it no longer possess infinite duration and manual deactivation), her status gradually decreased, causing her to be forgotten by many players.
  • Skyfire's membership in the Victorian King's Wand is an allusion to Rin Tohsaka of Fate series, who shares the same Japanese CV as Kana Ueda, in which she studies as a mage in the Clock Tower in the U.K. Interestingly, Kana Ueda is also a fan of Arknights.[1]
