  • Rim Billiton is a parallel to Australia, and the name is a reference to BHP Billiton (now simply known as BHP), an Anglo-Australian mining conglomerate.
    • Billiton is the anglicized name for Belitung, an Indonesian island that was once colonized by Britain before being ceded to the Dutch.
    • The Cage Incident is similar to the Eureka Rebellion in which Australian miners rebelled against their British overlord while setting up defensive fences against them.
    • It is worth noting that many of the Cautuses originate from Rim Billiton, which may be a reference to the rabbits' invasion of Australian biodiversity as a consequence of the British colonization.
  • Most Rim Billitoners' speech are rendered in Australian English on the English localization, which is especially prevalent in Invitation to Wine. Despite this, no Rim Billitonian Operators with English voices had their dialogue spoken and/or rendered in Australian English, possibly due to the lack of English voice actors who can perfectly emulate said accent.
    • The only arguable exception to this is the Rim Billiton-born Kroos (the Keen Glint), who speaks British English as a possible stand-in to Australian English.
