• She is named after one of Shuten-dōji's subordinates, Hoshiguma-dōji.
• Hoshiguma's shield, Hannya, is named after female demons representing jealousy in Noh theatrical performances.
• Hoshiguma (and to a lesser degree, Shirayuki) has been the subject of a meme within the Arknights community which replaces her shield with a fidget spinner due to its triangular size and the fact that it spins when Saw of Strength is active.
• In the CN community, there is a parody for Swire, Ch'en, and Hoshiguma depicting the former duo scolding each other with foul languages and the latter trying to stop their argument.
• Hoshiguma is one of the few operators who speaks a voice line in a consistent language despite different voice localizations. In her case, she'll utter, "Yes, sir!" across JP, KR and EN voices when selected in the battlefield.
