- Arene shares his birthday (September 7) with August Kekulé, a German chemist who discovered the theory of chemical structure.

- Arene is one of the few Operators to call the Doctor by a different name.
- In his case, he refers to them as "Professor" (sensei in his Japanese dialogues, meaning "teacher"), making him one of two to do so, the other being Eyjafjalla (the Hvít Aska).
