• His name is a portmanteau of Hebrew as a Hebrew acronym: Qui could stand for kuvia/kiva (קְוִויָּה), lit. "hope, wish," and lon could stand for shalóm (שָׁלוֹם), lit. "peace." As such, his name has the meaning of "hope for peace."
  • Alternatively, Qui'lon could also be kolam (קוֹלם), "their voice" in Hebrew, as shown in his older English translation as "Kollam."
• Qui'lon likely plays a similar role with King David in the Bible: being a king of humble origin with heroic military achievements who eventually had to face betrayal from the previous king who bestowed him.
