Special Operators are given for free from certain permanent game modes and, unlike other Operators, their level, skill level, promotion, and Operator Module(s) cannot be raised by normal means. Instead, the player must complete tasks in the game mode tied to the Special Operator to build them.
Special Operators also have Proficiencies that provides bonuses while they are brought into the game mode they are tied with, also unlocked by completing tasks in the respective game mode.
