Lappland Saluzzo the bloodthirsty Infected Siracusan Lupo is the daughter of Alberto Saluzzo, the current don of the powerful Saluzzo famiglia, who has disowned her due to her maniacal, unhinged behavior. During the annihilation of the Texas famiglia seven years ago (the year 1092), Lappland led her squad to conduct the purge, but she later defied her father's order by challenging Cellinia Texas, the sole survivor of the family. Having made a deal with Signora Sicilia, Lappland's failure to eliminate Texas causes the other famiglie, including Famiglia Saluzzo, to fail in taking the assets of Famiglia Texas. Furious, Alberto banished her from the family and labeled her as a "lone wolf" — an outcast. Even then, her banishment did not stop her from craving to have another duel with Cellinia, whom she sees as a "coward" in her eyes, and bring "the old Texas" back in the process. In her eyes, no one is able to escape the swamp known as Siracusa, even Cellinia.

To treat her severe Oripathy and fulfill her desire, that is to see Texas, Lappland enlisted herself with Rhodes Island with whom Penguin Logistics is partnering with. However, Cellinia ignores her most of the time and treats her as her as a mere "frenemy," and her identity as a Saluzzo has been a problem to many operators. Due to this, Rhodes Island is keeping Lappland on close watch and warns their personnel to not aggravate her. Notably, they gave a warning to keep her away from specific individuals connected to Siracusa such as Projekt Red the "Wolf Hunter" and a "Fang" of "Grandma", and Suzuran whose mother hails from Famiglia Venezia.

Prelude Suite: Old Wounds[edit]

She meets Texas in 1082 under the supervision of Alberto Saluzzo and Salvadore Texas. The two girls are introduced to one another. Lappland tricks Texas into tasting a sour grape and is amused when the girl finishes it. She brings Texas to the ramparts to view the barren lands and jokes about growing grapevines until they reach her city. Texas asks her a question she cannot answer: how will she ensure the grapes do not rot on the way to Columbia? Later, Lappland is punished by her father for bringing Texas to a dangerous place. She is locked inside a room with a chained manglerbeast. While it attempts to maul her, she quietly sits and glares back at it.

In 1088, Lappland greets Texas, who has just arrived in Brunello to establish an Originium trade route with Siracusa at the request of her grandfather. They each note that the other has not changed much. As Lappland shows her around the city, they stop before a statue holding a codex and a sword. Texas admits she wanted to see the place her grandfather missed so deeply, prompting Lappland to inquire about the conflict between her father and grandfather. She adds that the Morettis are colluding with Giuseppe Texas, to which Texas replies that she is representing only Salvadore. They reminisce about the past as they look out over the vineyards. Texas then asks Lappland the same question she posed back in 1082.

They spend their days preparing for the opening of a new trade route, during which Texas resolves several issues involving the mafia. She defeats Lappland in a sparring match, then follows her to work and witnesses Lappland setting a fire and killing many people. The next day, it is Texas who loses during their sparring session. Lappland brings up the incident from the previous day, placing the blame on the Morettis for failing to honor their agreement. Texas compares Columbia and Siracusa, criticizing the famiglia as hypocrites who employ limitless violence while preserving decency and silencing the common folk. Her contemplations only confuse Lappland. To her, Siracusa has always been exactly as Texas describes it, a place where the strong eat the weak. She taunts Texas for questioning the wishes of her grandfather, remarking that to everyone else, Cellinia Texas is more Siracusan than anyone.

In 1090, Lappland reads the letter Texas plans to send to her grandfather and teases Texas for trusting her with delivering the letter out of the city. Although she is Alberto's daughter, Texas believes she does not always obey him. Lappland jokes that she might die the next day, hinting that Alberto has given her a job to deal with Silva Moretti so that the Saluzzos may defeat the Morettis, and Alberto had promised that she would run Porta Tre. Despite being aware of his ulterior motives and Texas's warnings, Lappland is intent on taking the chance to break free of Alberto, musing about her lack of choices and taunting Texas when she refuses to divulge her grandfather's plans. In Lappland's words, Texas is Siracusan to the core and would never betray her famiglia.

The night of the negotiation, Lappland attacks a car owned by Famiglia Moretti, only to discover another man inside instead of Silva Moretti. It is then that Ingrid Venezia ambushes her. Lappland manages to block the strike in time and quickly moves back, somewhat overpowered, as Ingrid tells her she made the wrong move. Lappland returns to the Saluzzo estate and treats her injuries in a safehouse, having escaped from the formidable assassin. The sound of approaching footsteps raises her guard, and she strikes at the person opening the door, only to find it is Texas, who blocks her sword with a blade. Lappland receives her pocket watch back and notes that someone must have leaked the plan, then jokes about the possibility of Texas being the snitch. With a wild smile, she points her sword at Texas's throat, threatening her to reveal what her grandfather and Alberto are planning.

Texas says Columbia is not an exception to the law of nature Lappland so often espouses, but that she will never accept Siracusa if that nature involves exploiting the blood of her own kin. She reveals that it was Alberto himself who leaked the assassination plan. The revelation reminds Lappland of the incident years ago when she was punished. Just then, Alberto arrives at the safehouse and thanks Texas for her help in finding Lappland and during the negotiation. He passes on her grandfather's request to her. Although displeased, Texas agrees to change her plans and leaves. Alberto moves to leave as well, but Lappland's voice stops him. He tells her she is still immature if she cannot accept his methods, explaining that good grapes must be pruned and then crushed to become wine, before asking whether she can become Saluzzo's finest wine. The question enrages Lappland, who imagines attacking her father before being overpowered, and she remains silent. Left alone, she remembers the punishment she received in her childhood.

In September 1090, the conflict between the Morettis and the Saluzzos escalates to the point of total war. The Morettis grow brazen and disregard Signora Sicilia by declaring their intention to take over Brunello, prompting a Bocca al Lupo to intervene in 1091. He sends an invitation to the two dons and Texas. Alberto receives the message and informs Lappland that Texas has already checked in at the hotel, then praises his daughter for fending off the Morettis over the past few months. She coldly states she did it for the Famiglia, not for him. Alberto informs her of her next target, Texas. He acknowledges it would not be a polite move toward Salvadore. However, it would allow them to bring down Moretti and cut off an arm of Giuseppe. Alberto reasons that Salvadore understands the rules of Siracusa. The statement causes a crazed expression to cross Lappland's face and she accepts the task.

Later that night, she kills the men guarding the hotel rooms and clashes with the Bocca al Lupo. He leaps out of the window and detonates an Originium bomb. Lappland barely escapes in time but is injured by the blast. Knowing her actions will also bring down the Saluzzos, Lappland charges forward and kills the Bocca al Lupo thanks to a timely sword rain, but receives a slash across her face at the last second. The fight ends with her running her blade through him. He weakly asks if she understands what she has done, and she replies that it is the worst provocation she could make toward Signora Sicilia. His dying words about the insurmountable rules of Siracusa confuse Lappland, but the presence of Texas behind her captures her attention. They each comment that the other should leave Siracusa, with Lappland insisting she wants to stay. Texas laments that she will never be able to pick Siracusan grapes in Columbia. Left alone, Lappland collapses to the ground from the pain of her injuries, having been pierced by shrapnel from the Originium bomb.

Masked Silencers surround her in that moment, and with them is Alberto. He promises to apologize to Signora Sicilia later and urges the Silencers to salvage the situation for their mutual benefit. Lappland moves to pursue them but is stopped by Alberto. He praises her for her ambitious rebellion but notes that she was too reckless. He then answers her question by revealing that Signora Sicilia has entered the fray ever since Salvadore arrived in Brunello in 1082. She used the Saluzzos to keep the Morettis in check, but now that Lappland has killed the Bocca al Lupo, Silva Moretti's arrogance will lead his famiglia to be exterminated by the Silencers. As a result, all of Brunello will belong to the Saluzzos. In disbelief, Lappland accuses him of using her, which Alberto denies, reasoning that she chose to kill the Bocca al Lupo out of her own volition. He tells her he awaits her next betrayal. The realization that she wagered her life to rebel, only to help fulfill Alberto's ambitions, causes Lappland to conclude she can never escape the swamp that is Siracusa.

Prior to the liquidation of Famiglia Texas in 1092, Lappland appears before Signora Sicilia. She states that Salvadore's death has doomed Famiglia Texas and asks for the chance to participate and atone for her past sins. In turn, Signora Sicilia questions why she should be trusted. Lappland replies that she will bring her satisfaction. On the night of the liquidation, Lappland and Danbrown arrive at the estate just as they receive news that Cellinia Texas has killed her father and set fire to the building. Danbrown tries to reason with Lappland, arguing that attacking Texas now will only reflect poorly on them, but Lappland silences him with a glare and runs off.

She faces off against Texas in front of the burning estate. As fire rages around them, Texas welcomes Lappland to Columbia, while Lappland asks if she misses Siracusan grapes. Texas warns Lappland that Columbian police and press will swarm the estate soon, to which Lappland reminds her she was the one who started the fire. Lappland recounts the day the Morettis were exterminated as she unleashes her Arts at Texas. As Texas summons her sword rain, she angrily questions Lappland why she would come to Columbia after experiencing all of that. Lappland exclaims amidst manic laughter that Siracusa brought her there, and that not even Texas can escape from the rules of Siracusa. Their blades clash. Both are slashed, but Lappland’s injury is far more severe than Texas’s. Lappland asks why she did not kill her, and Texas replies that it does not matter who lives. Her intervention has made it clear that the last Texas survives. She calls Lappland mad and states she is done with Siracusa's rules, to which Lappland claims Siracusa will catch up to her eventually. Alone, Lappland watches as dawn arrives and asks with a smile whether Siracusa likes the ending. Due to Lappland's actions, Famiglia Saluzzo and the other famiglie failed to carve up the holdings of Famiglia Texas, as the assets will now be managed by the Grey Hall. Lappland is disowned and banished from Famiglia Saluzzo. Having left Siracusa, Lappland gazes at the city lights and wonders where Texas has gone.[1]

Code of Brawl[edit]

Lappland made a brief appearance in the end of the event where she caught Gambino and Capone trying to escape from Lungmen after their plot is foiled by Penguin Logistics. She then proclaimed how Texas had changed and lamented how dishonorable she is because she let them go alive. She then proceeded to fight a wounded Capone and Gambino.[2]

To Be Continued[edit]

After Capone and Gambino intercepted a letter from Signora Sicilia, Lappland requested the letter from them, stating that Signora Sicilia doesn't care about them anymore and told them to have a duel to the death to get their honor back. This duel turned out to be a ruse by them to attack her by surprise. She managed to fend off their attacks and asked them to work for her.[3]

Il Siracusano[edit]

At the return of Cellinia to Siracusa, Lappland followed her, hoping for the "old" Texas to finally resurface, and perhaps, be treated to a long-sought-after deathmatch. Interestingly, Lappland does not antagonize Cellinia and in fact comes to her aid, for as long as their motives align. After all, if Lappland wanted Texas dead, nothing must come in the way of the two of them, her own closure, and the ultimate destruction of everything Siracusan.

Il Siracusano: Azione Solo[edit]

After receiving orders from Alberto, Lappland wishes him good morning, good afternoon, and good night. She salutes him and leaves the room, much to the other mafiosi's relief. Alberto sends a mafioso to follow her, but she seemingly kills their contact instead to lure him out. She then asks him what his favorite dessert is. Later, Lappland asks Capone about the old photos he managed to retrieve from the Saluzzo estate. She rummages through the pile, chortling when she comes across pictures of her childhood self. She muses about what might have gone through her little mind back then, before burning the photos to ashes. The rising smoke flushes out a gray-and-white striped musbeast from the grass, reminding Lappland of a pet she once kept. She asks it if it wants to come home with her.

She keeps the musbeast in a random shack where she occasionally meets Capone and Gambino, a place that can hardly be called a hideout. One day, when she visits to give the musbeast food and water, she discovers the entire place set alight by mafiosi. She then walks out with weapons in hand. Later, she finds an old photograph, the sole item that remained intact. The picture shows a ten-year-old Lappland, her face serious and stoic as she looks to the side of the camera. Caressing it, she presses the photo to her chest and whispers that her father was more than just her father, for he was Don Saluzzo. She thought she would be free by rebelling against him, only to realize he too was bound by the famiglie. Tearing the paper into shreds, she laments that she truly cherished the musbeast he once gifted her, and throws the shreds into the pit where the charred body of her new pet lies. Mourning the musbeast's second death at the hands of her dear father, she sees its eyes seeming to peer up at her from within the flames, and breaks into laughter.[4]

Lappland encounters Texas again, claiming she has been busy all night clearing obstacles in Texas's way because she is eager to watch her tackle the last problem. She leaves to clean up the corpses littering the streets, but soon returns while Texas is pondering to tell her that she was the one who placed the radio there.[5]

After leaving the Grey Hall, Lappland parts with Gambino and Capone. Gambino leaves without saying a word, while Capone tells her that he will be leaving too, as he will not find any answers from her. Lappland simply bids him goodbye. Capone starts to regret not leaving immediately like Gambino when Lappland offers to see him off. She tells him to put his hidden knife away, claiming she will not laugh or be angry. In silence, they walk into opposite directions. Lappland turns toward the wildness, a black mist condensing behind her as Zaaro follows.[4]
