Straight Shot is an enemy mechanic introduced in Operation Lucent Arrowhead.

Overview

Certain enemies are capable of performing a Straight Shot with various effects as shown in the table below if they are not blocked and in the same row or column with a friendly unit — that is, the target is within their line of sight; whether the enemy could still carry out Straight Shots if the target is invisible/camouflaged is yet to be confirmed or tested. Silencing the enemy will disable their ability to carry out Straight Shots, unless if they are immune to Silence themselves.

Barricades obstruct the enemies' line of sight, preventing them from unleashing Straight Shots at friendlies behind them. Temporary Covers can also intercept incoming Straight Shots within its area-of-effect.

Their Straight Shot fires a burst of 3 bolts at the target.
Heavy Crossbowman Ambusher
Heavy Crossbowman Hunter
Their Straight Shot fires a special bolt at the target that deals Arts damage and Stuns them for 5 seconds, and the Ambusher/Hunter loses their invisibility while carrying it out.

Their Straight Shot launches two grenades at the target that detonates on impact with a friendly unit, dealing Physical damage equal to 70% ATK in a radius of 1.1 tiles.
Captain Mateo
(First phase only) His Straight Shot fires a burst of 10 shots at the target; the last shot also reduces the target's DEF by 100 (Level 0)/150 (Level 1) (stacks without a limit), and Mateo is immune to Stun, Freeze, and Levitate while carrying it out.

Expose

Certain enemies can expose friendly units, inflicting them with a debuff that allows enemies to use Straight Shots against the exposed friendly even when they are behind Barricades (although the Barricade will still block the shots) and amplifies the damage they took by 20%.
