• Her codename derives from the said building ingredient. Interestingly, her Chinese codename calls her 洋灰 (lit. "Western cement") which is an old-fashioned way to call cement in mainland China and is still used among Southeast Asian Chinese.
• Cement has the traits of a mole (family Talpidae), with a chibi-fied variant standing on her shield and three of them appearing in her Elite 2 artwork.
  • Cement carries a drill as a weapon, an allusion to the mole's burrowing ability.
• The term originally used for the ragtag nobodies describing the early formation of Shana's Engineering Team is called 愣头青 (Pinyin: Lèng tóu qīng), roughly translated to "People with no brains". Since it's used in such a derogatory manner, the Terra Wiki replaced it with a less offensive translation.
