“ | Come celebrate the Flood Festival at the Museum! Join our exclusive gemstone engraving course and learn how to etch a unique Originium circuit onto each gemstone. | ” |
Adventure That Cannot Wait for the Sun features Gemstone Engravings, a mini-game the player takes part in a trial course of the namesake hosted by the Varjavandabad Museum. It is available after AS-ST-1 is watched for the first time.
Overview[edit]
In Gemstone Engravings, the player need to engrave various gemstones through several techniques to create products worth as many score as possible to complete the courses.
Gemstones[edit]
The player will be given a set amount of gemstones to be engraved, which is divided into four types: Nesre-iner[note 1], Pet-iner[note 2], Gabe-iner[note 3], and Shay-iner[note 4]. Each type of gemstone has their own techniques in which they are processed that could affect the engraved gemstones' value.

Engraving[edit]
Each course is divided into several rounds and the player must complete all rounds to finish the course.
Each round is divided into the preparation phase and the engraving phase. In both phases, the techniques in the player's possession for the course is shown at the bottom of the screen.
- In the preparation phase, the player can buy additional techniques, upgrade techniques the player have, or expand the workbench (explained later) at the Merch Shop at the cost of Merch Tickets.
- Initially the player starts with 0 Tickets, but more will be awarded upon completing a round. There may be also an "extra goal" in a round that awards more Tickets on said round if met.
- The Merch Shop have 3 techniques available with each costing 3 Tickets which increases by 1 each time a technique is bought. Buying a technique already in the player's possession (marked by golden chevrons) will upgrade it to the next level.
- The available techniques are randomized and the player can opt to refresh them; the first refresh in a round is free but subsequent ones cost an increasing amount of Tickets.
- Sometimes the player can procure a limited amount of techniques in the Merch Shop for free, in which case the player must do so before they can proceed to the engraving phase.
- In the engraving phase, the player must use the available techniques to engrave the gemstones while paying attention to the gemstones provided as the materials so that the total value of gemstones produced would meet the target score.
- To engrave the gemstones, drag the techniques to the 6 workbenches, and click "Engrave" to confirm. Initially all but 2 workbenches are locked, with the rest being unlocked one at a time at the preparation phase by spending an increasing amount of Merch Tickets.
- The materials are shown to the left side of the workbenches where a button showing the value of each gemstone type as reference when clicked is also present, while the products are shown to the right, and the target score along with an estimation of the products' score are shown above.
- Both the product count and the estimated score do not account for bonuses under certain circumstances, most notably Advanced/Expert Tempering IV.
- The techniques are processed from left to right, but Advanced Tempering I and Expert Tempering I/II/III does not need to be placed in the workbench to be processed, in which case they will be processed before techniques in the workbench.
Once the gemstones are engraved, Lazvar will assess the final score; if the score meets or exceeds the target, the player proceeds to the next round, otherwise the player will fail the entire course and have to start over!
The player can leave the course and resume it anytime or finish it prematurely from the main menu.
